Sundance Condominiums were built in 1974 and were one of the first condominium developments in Snoqualmie Pass.
But the story starts earlier than that. In 1936, the Milwaukee Railroad established a ski area at the 'Hyak' stop. A number of name changes and structural changes ensued over the coming years and decades as Snoqualmie Pass became one of the epicenters of skiing in United States.
The area was later renamed Hyak, and operated by a succession of owners.
After Sundance was built, Suncrest was added in the mid 1980s and a number of chairlifts and operations were shuffled around through this period.
In 1992, Ski Lifts, Inc. purchased the Hyak Ski Area from previous operator Pac West. Currently, the area boasts incredible scenery, glade runs, and consistent fall-line skiing. A series of cross-over trails allow alpine skiing from Summit East to Summit West via Summit Central, a distance of approximately three miles. Sundance also enjoys nearby access to hiking trails, Lake Keechelus, Gold Creek Valley, nordic trails and countless other adventures and opportunities for outdoor enthusiasts.
